SmartLaw matches legally trained individuals with local schools to build young people’s knowledge and understanding of the law.
The SmartLaw team are looking for volunteers to run sessions in schools about different areas of the law; from Social Media to Human Rights.
This programme is completely free to participate in, with the usual £10 admin fee being waived until 2017. Volunteers will receive:
- Access to the SmartLaw website to find schools near you
- Materials to run engaging sessions
- Training to prepare you for working with young people in a classroom environment.
The programme is currently being piloted in the Birmingham and Manchester areas.
“It was great seeing the young people engage with the lesson; they were so interested and asked questions that showed they were thinking about what was being taught” – Louise Asquith, Volunteer Lawyer
