Frequently asked questions

Who are the workshops for?

The age group will be specified for each workshop. Please check the workshop page. The workshop is open to any student within that Key Stage. Students do not need to demonstrate a prior interest in the law to attend, it will be engaging and informative for everyone attending.

I am a student, can I attend a workshop on my own?

If you attend a school, you should go through them in the first instance. If this is not possible, we will consider each request, before making a decision. In all cases, we will need written consent from a parent or guardian and emergency contact details in order for you to attend. In some cases,  we may require an appropriate adult to attend along with you.

I am a parent, I want my child to attend- can I book a place for them?

Please go through your child’s school in the first instance. If this is not possible, please email us using the contact details below and we will be happy to discuss your options.

What does it cost? How do I pay?

Each workshop costs £20 per student. The minimum group size is 5 students. There is a discount available if you book a group of 10 students. You will need to pay at the point of application. We regret that we are not able to accept requests for invoice payment.

Can I bring more than 10 students?

This will depend on how many spaces we have available for each workshop. Please get in touch with us, using the contact details below, to arrange this.

What about places for teachers?

Teachers come free. Due to capacity reasons, we will only admit one teacher per 5 students unless particular students need additional support.

What do I do while the students are participating?

You are more than welcome to participate or observe! We feel our programmes work best when teachers engage in the material and reinforce student’s learning when they are back in school. Feel free to talk to our volunteers and us, and find out about the other resources and programmes we offer.

Do my students need to prepare for the workshop?

No. They will just need to attend and be ready to participate in the activities. Students will need to bring something to write with and some paper to write on.

Is lunch provided?

No, please make sure students bring a packed lunch with them. Not all venues will have cafes/shops close by, please take this into consideration.

How long is the workshop?

Once you have applied, you will receive an email with all the relevant details including timings of the day. Generally, the workshops will take place between 10am to 3pm but this may vary per location and closer to the time. The workshop will take place within the hours of a normal school day.

What is your policy on cancellations?

You will need to cancel your booking by emailing us on the contact details below 21 working days before the date of the workshop. Any cancellations made after this date will not be entitled to a refund. Any cancellations that take place before 21 working days of the workshop will be entitled to a full refund. Please refer to our terms and conditions.
